Router troubleshooting

Is the router plugged in?

Is the router's power supply properly seated in the back of the router?
Is the power supply properly seated in the wall socket or power strip?
Could the power supply or power strip be plugged into a switched socket that is turned off?
If using a power strip: is it seated in the wall, turned on, and powering other devices? If it has a light, is it lit?

Is the router powering on?

Do you see the normal light indicators on the router?

Is the router cabling correct?

Is the ethernet cable from your internet source fully plugged into the WAN or Internet port?
That port is usually separate from the others and is yellow, blue or orange.
If you have our managed router, it is port 1, with "Internet" written below the port.

Wirelessly connected customers (dish)

Is the power cabling correct?

Is the dish's power cable properly seated into the power brick?
Is the dish's power supply properly seated into the wall socket or power strip?
If using a power strip: is it seated in the wall, turned on, and powering other devices?
Could the power supply or power strip be plugged into a switched socket that is turned off?

Is the dish's power supply powering on?

Is the light indicator on the power supply lit up?
If the light is flashing, or the supply is visibly burnt or melted, or there is a burnt smell, unplug it and call us. Those symptoms can mean a shorted power supply.
